Potassium Humate
Potassium humate is the potassium salt of humic acid, a high-molecular-weight organic fraction isolated from mineral leonardite. It contains abundant carboxylate and phenolic groups, showing notable adsorption and cation exchange characteristics. It presents good aqueous solubility and maintains stable physical state under normal storage conditions. It is widely used as a raw material for solid organic fertilizer formulations.

Description
Potassium humate is the product obtained by finely selecting lignite and reacting it with potassium hydroxide solution. Typically, weathered lignite (leonardite) is used as the raw material. After crushing and screening, an extraction reaction takes place under alkaline conditions, in which the humic components in the raw material combine with potassium ions to form potassium humate. The product is then obtained through solid-liquid separation, concentration, drying, or granulation. It contains active functional groups such as carboxyl and phenolic hydroxyl groups. When blended with urea, phosphate fertilizers, potassium fertilizers, and trace elements, it can be formulated into high-efficiency, multi-functional compound fertilizers.

Function
1. Potassium Retention
The humic acid functional groups in potassium humate can adsorb and store potassium ions, reducing potassium loss through leaching in sandy and leaching-prone soils, while also reducing potassium fixation in clayey soils.
2. Soil Structure Improvement
The abundant aggregate structure helps enhance the soil’s buffering capacity, converting easily lost water and nutrients into forms more readily absorbed by plants. It assists in forming stable soil aggregates, optimizing soil porosity, improving aeration and water permeability in heavy clay soils, and enhancing water and nutrient retention in sandy soils.
3. Soil Environment Stabilization
It helps stabilize the soil pH environment and reduces the activity of soluble salts and free metal ions in the soil. Its adsorption and complexation effects help retain mobile soil components, slowing nutrient leaching and soil compaction trends.
